Tecnova is working on the development of a new biostimulant for organic farming

Tecnova Technological Center is working on the development of a new biostimulant for organic farming. It is about the development of biostimulant products for organic farming based on microalgae biomass. Sustainable sources are sought, both environmentally and commercially, to meet the current demand for biostimulants worldwide.

Microalgae biomass contains some exploitable compounds such as proteins, polyamines, polyphenols, exopolysaccharides, polyalkanes and phytohormones, which are targets of biostimulant formulations. The excessive and continued use of chemical fertilizers is causing environmental damage. For this reason, new production processes are being promoted to achieve a sustainable and less harmful development based on nutritional-based chemicals and new “zero residue” to guarantee the health of crops.

The development of this project is being carried out with the financial support granted through a joint call between Spain and India to finance bilateral R&D projects by the Center for Industrial Technological Development and its counterpart in India.
