The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) presented 2020 as the International Year of Plant Health. This celebration is intended to raise awareness throughout society of the importance of protecting plant health.

Plants constantly face the threat of pests and diseases. About 40% of food crops, worldwide, are lost due to this cause.

From the agricultural sector, it is essential that the different actors adopt crop management techniques that respect the environment. In this scenario, the prevention and protection of plant health is important, by the entire population.

The Tecnova Technological Center carries out evaluations of phytosanitary and phytofortifying products for plant health. In the Plant Production area, officially recognized tests are carried out for the registration of phytosanitary and nutritional products formulated with microorganisms.

The Area of ​​Innovation, Vegetable Production and Greenhouse Technology works, together, in the validation of cultivation techniques that respect the environment that reduce the consumption of energy resources.
